The 2025 P1 Registration Exercise Starts on 1 July 2025
The Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore has officially announced that the 2025 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise will commence on 1 July 2025 and end on 31 October 2025. This registration is for children entering Primary 1 in January 2026, covering those born between 2 January 2019 and 1 January 2020 (inclusive).
Parents are encouraged to begin preparations early and refer to the official MOE website for full guidelines on registration phases, eligibility, and required documents.
💻 Online Registration via the P1 Registration Portal
Parents can register their child for P1 using the P1 Registration Portal:

- A valid Singpass with 2FA is required.
- Only one parent is needed to submit the application.
- Parents can also view school eligibility and registration phase details on the portal.
- For help, contact the school of choice via email or phone from 9am to 4.30pm during the registration period.

Previous Year (2024) Balloting Stats:
- Phase 2A: 78.9% of schools had sufficient places
- Phase 2B: 83.3%
- Phase 2C: 51.1%
- Phase 2C (Supplementary): 75.5% (of 94 schools)

🏫 Updates on New and Relocating Primary Schools
To meet shifting demographic needs, MOE will:
- Relocate Townsville Primary School (from Ang Mo Kio to East Canberra) and
- Relocate Damai Primary School (from Bedok to Tampines North) by 2029
These schools will not admit new P1 students from 2025 to 2027. Admissions resume in 2028 for P1 entry in 2029.
Additionally, two new schools will open by 2031 in:
- Chencharu (Yishun)
- North Coast (Woodlands)
📚 Kindergarten Updates
- MK@Townsville will no longer proceed due to sufficient preschool supply in East Canberra.
- MK@Damai will open at the new Tampines North site in 2029.
- MOE will continue to monitor and support preschool needs in both Ang Mo Kio and Bedok.
⚠️ Important Notes for Parents
1. Compulsory Education:
All Singapore Citizens born after 1 Jan 1996 must register unless approved for deferment (deadline: 31 May 2025).
2. Home-School Distance Requirements:
The residential address used for registration must match NRIC records. The child must reside there for at least 30 months from 1 July 2025 or risk reassignment.
3. Caregiver Address Use:
If using a grandparent or sibling’s address, submit the Alternative Child-Care Arrangement Declaration between 30 June and 31 July 2025.
4. False Information Consequences:
Providing false information may lead to police investigation and forced school transfer.
🌍 International Student (IS) Registration
Phase 3 registration is open only to IS who:
- Submit an Indication of Interest Form from 27 May to 2 June 2025, and
- Are notified by MOE (by October 2025) if a place is offered.
